Is that the group moderated by one of the TubeNet destroyers? I can't get access to see the ad.

Can you post a photo? I would like to see it. That is only a tiny bit less than I paid for mine. These do not turn up used very often at all.

I knew someone who got a sousa for $25 once.

But the cheapest tuba i have gotten still was $50 eb.

(and i've gotten that price a few times...)

Someone should snatch it up. Unless there is a misplaced decimal point...

The seller is Mike Forbes

Ad Text: From Yamaha: “YCB-826s is a handcrafted, 6/4 C tuba available in limited production. The choice of top orchestral professionals around the world….each intrument is painstakingly constructed by a very small number of highly skilled craftsman, producing each individual piece and part by hand. This handmade construction produces an instrument with a deep, rich, low range, agile response, and an individual sound character.” Sells currently for $44,634.
Truly, this is single-handedly the very best tuba I’ve ever played in my entire life. I’ve never played an instrument so sensitive to soft dynamics in all registers yet can easily fill the largest concert hall. It also broadcasts a deep rich centered core that is easy for trombone players to align with. Add in “point and shoot” intonation that is absolutely stunning and you’ve got a real winner here. The only reason I’m selling is because I’ve moved on to the new Yamaha 623 CC Tuba, which better aligns with my chamber music work.
I obtained the instrument brand new from Yamaha in 2021. The instrument has a few bumps and bruises from 5 years of concerts and gigging. That said, it plays beautifully and is not impacted by the cosmetic issues. It also comes with a Yamaha custom gig bag, handmade for this instrument.
The YamaYork is located in Madison, WI and I can drive it a reasonable distance for very serious inquiries. I prefer not to ship. I can also accept credit card transactions through my website if that makes the financing a little easier.

Nice. I would like to find out about the gig bag Yamaha makes for these. Mine did not come with a case or bag. I have both now, but a bag sized specifically for one of these would be nice to have… if it is a really good design…

They are nice in general design, but the pad along the spine allows the horn to shift into the gap between the spin and side panels. It's not as bad on the 826, but it is a real issue on the YFB-821. Most people swap them for Cronkhites or similar level of quality cases. If it were one, continuous panel of padding or gap-less like Superfine's V loader design then it would be great. As they are now it's sort of flawed.

The biggest issue is that Yamaha wants major $$$ for the bag and it's just not worth it.
