I've been meaning to say that I love your signature line, @arpthark. I remember renting those videos from Blockbuster (or whatever our local movie rental place was) and watching them with my siblings. They're hilarious!

I think the Distin has possibilities too. If I ever act on my desire to get a Class B motorhome, I could go over there and get it, too.

I own a Distin of the same model. It's a fun little player, but the valves on mine are so worn as to render it unusable unless you add a heaping great quantity of thick valve oil. Still a really cool instrument circa 1890s. The valves on the one pictured in the ad look very good.

I've watching a lot of MST3K on Prime lately. I wonder if that's subliminally your fault.

Currently running "Final Justice" in the background as I finish up some work at home today.

I hadn't thought about it until I saw your signature. Now I'll have to get on YouTube and go searching!

I like that Pepper tuba, it reminds me of those slim, elegant little York and Holton tubas. Almost like a bass euphonium, makes me want to pull out some classic treble clef baritone solos and sing away.
I owned a 4 valve version of that Conn Giant. It had a nice sound, but didn't play all that great. A few examples for the lols-
-wide Eb/D octave, low D had to be played 234, D in the staff could be pulled, good luck with the Eb's
-low G had some guts to it, open false tone was A so I played A and Ab open and 2, normal fingerings were weak and not enough pull for A
-low C 12 was fantastic, very resonant, low Bb was a little rough, B natural didn't exist. You can buzz A, you can push down the correct valves, all you're gonna get is a small whimper
Not the best tooba skewl tuba, I tried though.
