Just as with that Borodin rehearsal (beat-up 186C arrived ten minutes before I had to leave for the rehearsal), my "stubby" Holton (originally 3-valve top-action) B-flat arrived (USPS, no packing materials in the box) on the same day as this covid-era outdoor quintet concert...so (yup) I used it on the gig...even though we had run through everything with me playing my F tuba...

ok...I MAY HAVE (can't remember) "cheated" by sticking in a (used, off the floor of the shop) felt, and possibly by flipping the spit cork upside-down.
(Why WASTE a brand-new cork and felt on a valveset that's due to be torn off the instrument?)

I hate bloke, but I'm going to respond anyway, instead of just marking him as "foe". - Foejoe Yamamoto

re: the "tubenet" peeps...
This place is sort of like the suburbs, but now EVERYone has moved to the suburbs, so the suburbs are now the same as where everybody moved away from. :smilie7:
