I've never seen a modern-era one of these.

I wonder how it plays compared to mine, which is definitely not modern era but has a modern receiver on it. Mine's intonation requires work, and after playing what I usually play, I have a strong tendency to overblow it and have to stifle. However it remains as the "iffy venue tuba" for the duration. It is also really barky -- not sure, honestly, how I managed it back when it was my only tuba.

So it's basically a Eb version of a 184?

I could be interested in this tuba. I live in Endicott. Do you have any video of it being played?

I am just posting the Craigslist post for visibility. You'll have to contact them via Craigslist. I think I saw this listed on Facebook Marketplace as well.

If it is NOT the same as the one I have -- might be worth looking into. If it IS the same as the one I have (looks the same on casual observation) -- it could be the "playing equivalent" of a rotary F with intonation issues. I can play mine, but it is not an NStar nor is it a 184. I have no idea if it is the same physically as the old one I have, or if it has been tweaked.
