Hercules tuba stand DS753BB
Weight limit showing 22lbs. Does anyone out there use one (particularly in the standing position) for a horn that weighs more than 22lbs? Specifically my Wyvern is listed at 25lbs.
Re: Hercules tuba stand DS753BB
Between the horn and any leaning weight my Hercules stand often sagged even when I tightened to the max.
I drilled a through hole and installed a pin to hold the height.
No more sagging!

Taking off my retail hat now; K&M or Baltimore Brass stands are the preferred for heavy horns.

I’ve been working with BBCo’s manager to make a standing version of their stand.
Right now I’m using a converted carbon fiber camera tripod stand with the top part of a BBC stand.

Re: Hercules tuba stand DS753BB
Put a towel on a wooden piano bench, sit on it 90° off the normal way, set your tuba in front of you on the bench, and see if that puts the tuba where you need it to play it comfortably.
I took one of those cheap keyboard benches that fold up to nothing with the x-shaped legs, pulled out the staples for the vinyl, removed the crappy (way too soft) white foam rubber from underneath, replaced that with a layer of fairly dense rubber that is about 3/8 of an inch thick that I found online, stapled the vinyl back on, and it turned out to be the perfect thing and far superior to any tuba playing stand. It's about 11 to 12 inches deep (front to back if sat on in the normal way), I turn it sideways, sit on the (now) back end and set the tuba on the front end.
Someone smaller than me might not be able to straddle it, but maybe most people can comfortably.
With one tuba in particular, I'm very happy with this setup.

Pics or it didn't happen.
Seriously, I'm curious.
