Couldn’t find much online about these old RM mouthpieces but I did stumble upon an old post from Chisham:bort2.0 wrote: Tue Aug 04, 2026 10:20 pm What is the RM JT-1?

Model JT-1
Outside cup dia. 50.00mm
Inside cup dia 32.50mm
Rim Width 8.75mm
Cup "Flat"
Drill Venturi (Bore) 7.00mm
Outside cup dia. 1.969"
Inside cup dia 1.280"
Rim Width 0.344"
Drill Venturi (Bore) 0.276"
It’s pretty shallow but has nice clarity and a ton of power in bigger horns.
The RM 1. IS with the DOT…larger throat.

Can you post a photo? I used to have a old (West Germany) RM-1 long ago, and it was a pretty nice mouthpiece.
I also found this info from @Lee Stofer from the other board, a long time ago:

According to my sources, Rudolf Meinl got some of his mouthpieces from Josef Tilz at one point, hence the JT-1. Josef Tilz was the brother of Bruno Tilz, who still supplies Rudolf Meinl today, as well as Hirsbrunner and Perantucci. Josef Tilz retired some time ago and therefore the mouthpieces are no longer available.
The Rudolf Meinl RM-1 or RM-1. (dot designates slightly larger throat) are prime choices for a Rudi 3/4 CC, as well as the RM-2 or RM-2., if one prefers a slightly smaller version. These are all Helleberg-style mouthpieces, but have the correct shank and bore for optimum intonation on the 3/4 Rudi.

I love the RM 1! The larger throat model is just a little too much of an air hog for me. The standard RM1 is just the right amount of pressure for me. I’ll probably never get rid of it along with a REALLY old Perantucci 1 (now marked as a PT36 I believe).bort2.0 wrote: Wed Aug 05, 2026 8:05 am Can you post a photo?
