Grand Symphonic Winds - Tuba Needed
Posted: Mon Aug 03, 2026 12:50 pm
Greetings!
The Grand Symphonic Winds is a St. Paul, MN-based civic band. We're looking for a third tubist. The season follows the academic school year with four concerts per season with rehearsals Thursday evenings. Every four years the group travels internationally with the next tour slated for 2028. We have played at Midwest multiple times.
Website is here: https://www.grandsymphonicwinds.org/ for more information about the group. There is an "audition" - nothing overly formal. Work up an etude and/or excerpt for the music director and maybe me.
Email membership@grandsymphonicwinds.org if it's something you're interested in.
@Chuck W, I don't know if you want to do this full time or just be on the sub list.
@bort2.0, I know this conflicts with your current group, but the music is challenging every concert cycle.
Sorry if there's other local players in the area that I forgot to tag - most everyone else I know from MN here would be commuting from even further than I do.
Kind regards,
Frank
