Schuster Berliner Tuba in F for sale
Posted: Mon Jul 27, 2026 1:48 pm
I'm selling my Schuster Berliner type F-Tuba.
It was made sometime between ca 1880 and 1890.
You can read more about the tuba here:
https://brassandpipes.wordpress.com/2022/07/
It has 5 rotary valves and is a 2+3 Berliner style set up and has a nice raw brass patina. It tunes to F at 440Hz and has a range from 435 to 442Hz.
I've used it for mid to late 19th century repertoire such as Brahms 2te Symphony, Academic Festival Overture etc and it performed beautifully.
I'm selling because I am mostly using my new reproduction Vienna Tuba and this horn belongs either in a museum or in the hands of a serious player or collector.
Serious offers around 6,000€.
The tuba is located in Berlin, Germany for testing and pickup.
Shipping is possible although due to the tuba's rarity and age, not advised.
