I have a pencil clip on my tuba, and I keep a pencil in it.

I have a pencil clip on my tuba, but I use it to hold my cigarettes, like Eddie Van Halen.

I do as Eddie Van Halen, and - additionally - my tubas are painted like his guitars.

I use the pencil clip I was born with... my ear. Recently someone pointed out that it might be more comfortable putting the pencil behind my ear instead of in it... learn something new everyday.

I store my pencil in my mouthpiece (when playing).
It reduces the number of complaints about playing too loud.

Just as with a golf pencil, it has no eraser, as I never make mistakes. I suspect that golf pencils feature no eraser for a fairly obvious different reason.

I've heard that - if you can pencil clips - they can turn into a toxic goo...so - instead - I jar them. (I can't afford frozen.)

Pencils are Russian space technology so they should float around. I never found a Russian space pencil so I mark the notes needing attention with a big black Edding. All playing problems solved :smilie8:

I use a pen, I figure that my "scholarly" edits (mostly profanity) should pass the ages and inspire others in indelible ink, not mere graphite. :teeth:

The back of the ear also is a good holster to convert your writing implement into an improvised missile with Wild West speed and accuracy.

Back in high school, my wife discovered a golf pencil and tuba mouthpiece make a great short range blowgun.

Does Eddy Van Halen smoke every time he needs to amend his musical notation?

Pretty hard core. Ash seems somehow symbolic commentary on the ephemerality of sonic stimuli.

That's a pretty weird ash comment.

Recorders make good blowguns with some modifications. More fun than throwing darts.

I hold my pencil in the corner of my mouth - like a cigarette, that way I can hold 2 - one red and one black. Please note that California has determined that chemicals found in #2 pencils may cause puberty especially in students.
