Re: I Need Feedback Again…
Hey, sounds great. There are a couple of times when the melody seems to get lost and it's just harmony notes bouncing around. It might also just be midi messing with my ears. There was a point maybe 25% of the way through where a trumpet pitch was just droning on without necessarily doing anything.
It's hard writing new Christmas material, and almost as hard to give decent criticism. I don't think the tuba part came across well on my phone, so I might be missing something.
It all sounds nice and playable and in the spirit of the season.

Re: I Need Feedback Again…
I don't really "get" 4:30 to 4:45.
A few places in Holly Jolly it gets really quiet and sounds almost like an error, but I'm guessing it's really just the glory of midi.
The transition into JB Rock is fun!
8:45-ish it's hard to hear the melody
9:08-ish... That descending tuba line into the tuba solo is tough stuff!
We wish you a Merry Christmas was actually just exciting to listen to. Not sure how else to say it, but it's just pure Christmas Spirit.
Overall -- it sounds like a tuba player wrote this. Big two thumbs up, it's excellent.

Re: I Need Feedback Again…
My MIDI comments were specifically about dynamics. It's like all of a sudden really quiet, and I thought it was something wrong with the audio. Then it came back, and I wondered, maybe that's just how the dynamics work (that is, a few distinct levels that are discrete and jump from one level to another, rather than real life with an infinite amount of continuous change between levels.
All to say -- hearing it by real life musicians, and watching them play it... Gonna make a lot more sense.
"Limitations" in whatever form

Really cool, Wade, and thanks for sharing all that -- I definitely learned a few things!

Re: I Need Feedback Again…
I’ve just played it on my standard iPad speaker and my wife has just walked away singing it…. Sounds like a lot of fun and really accessible. Just need to find a horn player to get my quintet together cos I’m not sure my father could keep up.
