I want to try Windhager with my Besson 983 (American shank needed). FMB Fachmarkt Germany is 2,5 hours away, but they can’t give a conclusive awnser. Which is odd…. They say the difference should be very small.
So…. Does anyone know what size the shanks are??

It is not listed in their (old) catalog, most likely euro
I have one here, I can take some measurements tomorrow

Thanks! That is a little over .530 of an inch at the end of the shank, save to conclude it is a euro shank.

He also offers a bigger shank
All shanks with a 6 in it start with 13.6 mm
But he also offers a 6+4 shank. Like old German shank

FMB Fachmarkt is going to contact Windhager, we will see! I am not prepared to take the risk and cost for shaving the shank. And, the inner diameter will be different and probably not correct. Allmost half a mm is quite a lot!
