Instrument question

Years ago, Mirafone made an F rotary valve trombone. Like a cimbasso, but the "slide" section was straight out, instead of bent down. Does anyone have a photo of an instrument like this?

At least in the past, these things - made by quite a few different European manufacturers (often in Czechoslovakia) - showed up on eBay. I bought one one time. Once I managed to get all the hardened cooking oil out of the rotors and played it, it was quite "stuffy". The bore size on the Czechoslovakian one that I purchased was about the same size as that found on a typical American trombone (.560" or so).

I apologize with having no experience with a Miraphone version.

Don't know anything about a valve F contrabass... But they still make (it at least have in the catalog) a Bb valve bass trombone The 58W

Super blurry from a 1975 catalog. Pic is actually the 'G' version.

Cerveny still makes something very similar. They used to make a bent version with 5 valves, same bore, and what we might as well call a modern cimbasso (.7xx valve set) but currently list neither. I read somewhere the Chicago Lyric used to use one, they've had some interesting instruments over the years. Art Linsner told me he had Charlie Daellenbach's Thein contrabass trombone and converted it to Eb to keep up with the bass trombonist who had a marching baritone bell on his bass trombone iirc. Wild stuff!

I haven't played either but have a very similar spec instrument in Eb. It was fairly stuffy and difficult to articulate on with a Josef Klier contrabass trombone mouthpiece but much better with a small tuba mouthpiece, a small shank Kelly XS tuba mp.
