Soooo...I checked the forums and I found only one reference to Barbara York (and it wasn't "Wars and Rumors of Wars").
Holy handgrenade, Fledermausmann! It's so good

I think this piece needs a lot more recognition. It's got everything, and it's easy on the ears :D

It’s a great piece. I’m actually working her Sonata no 1 “Shamanic Journey” for a faculty recital this year.

I never heard that before -- wowza!! Barbara York should be better known. And of course it's a fine performance.

Hearing this piece on YouTube is what made me want to get back into playing the tuba!
I swear I will perform this piece, I don't know how or where, but I have to do it before I die.

I love that piece, beautiful writing for tuba.
Second movement is a chop buster though, those high F’s seem to go forever.

I finally started it tonight at the school where I teach in between parents at open house. I love it. Gotta work on the triple tonguing on the triplets, though. Really enjoyable on the little Cerveny!

still working on the right mouthpiece for the little (and big) horn right now, well, the right one for my ugly face. A worthy quest.

This piece is going to be performed with orchestra at the Army Tuba-Euph Workshop in February by SSG Alec Rich!
