Thank you to everyone who reached out, whether through comments or direct messages. I’m excited to share that I’ve found the tuba I was looking for. I recently purchased a Miraphone 186 from Ed Jones of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and it’s truly an incredible instrument. I appreciate all the support and guidance throughout the process.

My vote would be this Marzan (B&M 5520) CC at Baltimore Brass. I am surprised it is still for sale.

There's a 188 on the DC craigslist for a good price, but that would be quite a road trip for you.

FB shows a Wessex Wyvern and a MW 2145 in Austin, Tx, although Wade's 186 would seem the best option in that price range.

Watch out, I think that DC 188 is a scam. Anything with delivery available/cryptocurrency ok and a suspiciously low price is generally someone trying to get you to buy it sight unseen via Zelle or PP F&F and then they take your money and run.

Wade’s 186 is simply a dream. I can’t justify buying it, but I think someone will be super happy.

Agreed, and MapQuest shows Wade's area as only 6.75hrs from Houston. That makes the choice relatively easy.

I could meet you in Baton Rouge. If Don could help you set up a meeting place (like at LSU) you could have as much time as you like to test it and we could get lunch afterward. However, I fully understand that the additional scratch is a big stretch for you. So no biggie if you aren't able or interested.

Just sayin'…

This is DEFINITELY a scam. I emailed after seeing the ad up only for a short time and the seller would not let me come try it out. I could have been there in an hour and a half. Seller said it was packed up for shipping and it would be shipped after paying by PayPal. More fishy than the dumpster outside of a Maryland crab house in August.

I think Gene Corporon would like Wade's tuba.

The 188 is indeed a scam. Told the seller I was 10 minutes away with cash and he still wanted to ship it. He said he wasn’t available for personal interactions.
