I'm in favor of none of the 20th century, 21st century, nor 19th century foreign wars (all the way back to the 1860s) in which the United States has been involved, just to be clear, .

As this troll thread delves further and nakedly into politics (with me not ever dropping it more deeply into it but simply responding to others doing it), I tend to suspect that most of those people who visit here - who don't vote Republican - assume that support the Republican Party. They are mistaken, the main reason being that it's only fake opposition. That said, it's time to think back to and review the foreign warmonger presidents. There were more minor conflicts, but those were typically one battle or a few days long, if that.

Those actual major foreign wars of one major party were:
Wilson, FDR, Truman, JFK (so-called "advisors", leading into...), LBJ, Clinton (people seem to forget about Yugoslavia), and Obama

Those of the other major party were:
Lincoln, Bush, the other Bush (if anyone's curious, I didn't vote for them, and nor did I vote for McCain or Romney), and Trump
(for whom I voted for it at the very last minute in 2016, when Mrs bloke reminded me what he accurately pointed out (in the form of a question) to congregations of black churches, "What the hell do you have to lose?"

Anyway, it seems as though one party has out warmongered the other (though the one that the second Bush started lasted ridiculously long), both parties (based on what they were taught and their children's history "text") seem to champion the prosecution of the war by the first ever Republican president (a war of attrition, whereby those he invaded killed off far more of his than he killed of theirs), and Obama seems to have enthusiastically taken over the war prosecuted by the second of the Bush presidents (as I didn't notice any of the Obama supporters speaking out against that during Obama's tenure...)

... so if someone's going to - super-duper expand the topic (as was obviously the original intent of the person that started the thread), have someone else bring up all of the ill-advised foreign wars - wasting trillions and resources and putting us trillions of dollars into debt - as well as all the suffering, death, and destruction... and wants to be political about it, let's (and why not trigger even more people, as that was the intent of starting the thread?) take a look at who's responsible for how many of those ill-advised wars (as far as how people vote), and check out the scorecard. Who cares that we're not supposed to talk about politics? Y'all do it anyway, and blame it on me, because y'all try to be cute about it, and then get angry with me when I call y'all out for trying to be cute and coy when doing it, and then make blunt remarks about your political posts. :eyes:

I think it commendable when the ultra wealthy help out...they should. Either in higher taxes or contributions...Hospitals, the Arts ( Symphonies), Universities, etc....just like those of extreme wealth did in the past ( Ford, Carnegie, Rockefeller)...
