@tubatodd your 2165 got crushed? Do share that sad story if you don’t mind! What happened?
Perhaps an exaggeration, but also a correct description. It was sitting laying flat on the floor in the school instrument repair shop (we had one on the group floor of the music building). A bari-sax, it its case, that was sitting on the top shelf of a 6' cabinet, slid off and nailed the bell. I wasn't there when it happened. I don't even recall why it is in the shop to begin with.

What horns are in my "section" now?
Mack Brass 186 BBb clone (also has VERY old Miraphone 186 BBb)
B&S GR51 BBb (also has a Hirsbrunner BBb)
Willson Eb (not sure model) piston (also has Miraphone 186 BBb)
Wessex 4 piston Eb
Rudy 4/4 CC/Besson 995/Meinl Weston 2145 (me)
Bringing the Meinl Weston for a spin tomorrow.

In guitar/bass world there is a joke
"I don't remember your name....but I know you play a 1959 Gibson Les Paul through a Plexi Marshall"
Last few Tuba Christmases I've been to I've brought my little cimbasso thing. 'oh it's that tall guy with the funny horn'.

The last one I went to I used to play for and with the conductor, I joked to the guy next to me that Jeff said I always had something unusual but he never saw my bass and contrabass trumpets or my contrabass trombone. The contrabass trumpet would have been a fantastic Tuba Christmas horn. iirc there was a record set about double bell instruments, there was an incredible variety of both euphoniums and alto horns, including both bugles at once and all sorts of wonderful critters.
