A one-piece tuba snake. It needs to be able to go between piston casings and around tight bends without having to be bent so that metal fatigue does not cause the brush to snap off inside the horn, where you cannot get it out. (DAMHIK)
Thanks.

Folks, I am not asking for suggestions.. I am BITCHING about how difficult it is to find these — EVER — but especially nowadays. I do not want a substitute, I want the real thing, which apparently is no longer carried by anyone because they do not sell well enough… probably because so many of us accept the crappy euphonium snakes and just cope with them. We can only purchase what they offer, and they only offer what we purchase.

I found something at the pet store. Aquarium tubing cleaning snakes. They work well.

We may have a winner. I wonder if the bristles are stiff enough

Have one. Won't go through slide crooks without bending the brush, which can then cause it to snap off in the slide. The bristle section needs to be about 1.25" square to be of any use for me. I had these for decades, and now you cannot get them. No one wants to sell stuff made for us; they only want to try and convince us that "not good enough" is "good enough".
A brush head that is longer than about an inch is bad. And a skinny brush is of no use.

For $8.00 it night be worth it to cut the brushes short.. then put some plastidip or liquid electrical tape on the tip..
