FS: New Eastman 834S 5/4 CC

Post by Puckcall »

Available is my Eastman 834S 5/4 CC.

This is the new Eastman 5/4 and i believe it is the first on the used market. I acquired this horn back in March from Houghton Horns. I made a move from the 836 to this horn in search of a different sound. While I absolutely prefer this tuba to the 836 I've come to realize that the change i needed was in a rotor tuba. After playing on my colleagues rotors some over the past weeks and hearing that sound from my students in lessons I now know that is the sound I was after.

You can find pictures here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/23npj7u9 ... 1cgtt&dl=0

The horn comes with:

Hard case
gig bag
and I can even throw in a mouthpiece as well

While Eastman markets the horn as a 5/4 it is really more of a 4/4+ in terms of size. It does however, have a massive sound, one that competes with just about any 5/4 out there. I would liken it to the Miraphone 129x series, as it plays very similarly to one that I owned in my undergrad. The valve action on this compared to the 129x is superior in my opinion. I have owned the instrument for seven months on the day, and very recently had it chem cleaned. This is a great tuba!

Located in DFW, willing to drive to meet a serious buyer. I would prefer not to ship.

New these go for anywhere from $11,250 - $13k

My price is: $10,250. Not looking for a trade but open! A rotor 5/4 CC or BBb will be what I expect to move to so if that's you and you're interested shoot me an email.
