TINDALL TUBA SEMINAR 2027
July 4–10 | Hosted at the Eastern Festival of Music

10 CHOSEN PERFORMERS. ONE INTENSIVE WEEK.

Join me at EFM for a week dedicated to the highest level of tuba playing, audition preparation, and performance.

A major focus will be an intensive study and detailed breakdown of 20–25 of the most frequently requested and important orchestral tuba excerpts—how to prepare them, what committees listen for, and how to perform them successfully under pressure.

The week will also include:

• Daily fundamental sessions with me
• Vaughan Williams & John Williams Tuba Concertos
• Penderecki / Kraft unaccompanied repertoire
• Two full mock orchestral auditions
• Orchestral section playing with a professional trombone section
• Participant solo recital

Only 10 performers will be selected.
15+ auditor positions will also be available.

📍 Eastern Festival of Music - Greensboro, NC
📅 July 4–10, 2027
🎥 Applications & video auditions due March 2027 - Open to talented HS through professionals

Seven days. Ten players. Serious work.

More details coming soon! #tuba #orchestra #dotheworkgettheresults @efmsummermusic

Given the success of Mr. Tindall’s students at winning auditions, I have no doubt that the participants will get a lot out of it.

I was thinking that the 3 of them should be able to handle more than 10 students. Anyway... :tuba:

No mention of the cost of this Seminar is eyebrow raising. It surely cannot be gratis, right? If not, seems like the poster should have the weekly fee before one takes the time to send an application. Maybe Aaron or someone else on TubaForum has the info.

Price will follow, I'm sure.

Don't want to scare people off in the middle of an affordability crisis.

Do any of the summer festivals and workshops post their cost in recruitment ads? And somehow there's people that manage to fill the seats
