Anybody know anything about "COR*TON" It also says MADE IN ENGLAND next to it and EB on the opposite side, and kinda resembles those chunky old besson eb mouthpieces.
Also, i figure this thread can be used for obscority, or playing characteristics, or what have you.

As far as my personal usefulness for those is concerned, I would say that it ebs and flows. My current cravings sorta be flat.the elephant wrote: Tue Oct 06, 2026 10:47 pm Don't know nuthin bout no COR*TON, but I really like them croutons. Especially the Eb kind.

Re: Mouthpiece queries
As much as I can find it, Corton was a house brand of a UK music shop called Rosetti’s. The instruments were made by Amati but I’m guessing they had a local UK maker (same as the big cushy Besson/Boosey ones I guess) make the mouthpieces. Catalog (scroll down significantly to find brass):

Re: Mouthpiece queries
So... you're saying it's just a British version of a Cerveny mouthpiece? No wonder i like it...
(will look more closely at the catalogue when i'm not driving)
Thanks a bunch!

Re: Mouthpiece queries
Anyone know about EESI-LYPE?
(for some reasoni thought i'd posted elsewhere on the forum, and maybe i did but not by that name...
For the small set of instrument they fit, they have become a favorite despite not much playing time and the signifcant differences in the two examples i've come across.
