Re: CHOP CHOP !!!
I had someone reach out to me and ask me to cut a tuba bell and put threaded rings on that they would supply. The reason that I turned them down is because I figured there was a really good chance of the bell being dropped while trying to screw it on or off really soon after this was done, and likely they would then come back to me and ask me to repair the threaded rings.

Re: CHOP CHOP !!!
The threaded rings that the owner of the horn supplied to me don't quite feature the same taper as the bell, so I had to fill the bell flare male threads portion with solder, but while avoiding solder bubbling out the other end as well as making some stupid clumsy mistake and getting solder on the male threads.
Also, the bell was so beat up that it took me a long time to get the throat area (where the cut needed to be) circular.

Re: CHOP CHOP !!!
All done, including a long laundry list of other repairs:

Again, this is pre-unification Alexander knockoff is a stencil sold by Boosey and Hawkes with "Besson" engraved on it.
As is known, the house brand for B&S horns is Hoyer.

Re: CHOP CHOP !!!
For obvious reasons, I didn't install these until the owner of the instrument came to pick it up.
