FS: Bach 50BL bass trombone, $1,200
I bought this last winter to mess on a bit and can't really justify keeping it at this point. It's an old Bach 50BL in fairly used condition with a dependent valve and modified "split" triggers by Giardinelli. Mechanical Dubro linkage on the valves.
I cleaned it and stripped the spotty lacquer on the bell. The horn is mostly raw brass at this point with quite a bit of wear on contact points. Slide is pretty nice but there's a little click coming in to 1st position sometimes, not sure what parts are colliding. There isn't really any plating loss on the inner slide, in nice shape overall.
Comes with a foam semi-soft zippered case, or I have a heavy-duty Olds bass trombone case that should fit if you prefer one (or both).
Pics incoming.
Asking $1,200. Located in CT but can ship. Please PM or email beanhillbrass at icloud if you're interested. Thanks!

That's what Google's AI seems to think, but I believe it means it has a dependent valve.

I think it's 10", but I will be sure to check when I get home this afternoon. Could very well be 10.5".

Maybe the L is lightweight slide, if it has the nickel-silver slide instead of the brass outer slide?
The nickel silver slide with 10.5" bell was more of the big band model, vs. the brass slide and 9.5" bell for orchestral use - but they could go either way.

I did a little more research and I think it's just L for the large bell -- this one is 10.5".martyneilan wrote: Tue Sep 29, 2026 3:26 pm Maybe the L is lightweight slide, if it has the nickel-silver slide instead of the brass outer slide?
