FOUND: hard case or gig bag YAHOOOO

Post by York-aholic »

Found. —-> see post at the bottom…

————————————————
I’m looking for a used hard case or gig bag for a Martin Medium that I’ve flipped to front action 4+1. It’s a bit oddly sized at 17x31. Please let me know if you have anything that would be a good fit that you’d like to sell.

Thanks.

I'm not selling it, but my Martin Medium is in a Miraphone gig bag. A little bit of a squeeze until it broke in, but it fits great. It sure what model # though

Send me a message sometime and tell me how this worked out. I've always daydreamed of doing something like this to mine!

It looks like Miraphone’s Eb / F bag may be a good fit. I suppose that would work since my Martin has a Miraphone 183 rotor as the fifth valve.

Thanks for the suggestion @bort2.0!

Sure thing!

And to clarify, it's a tiny bit snug around the bell. Height and girth is fine!

I have a love/hate relationship with patience.

The last few days it’s been in a love phase.

Some of you may have recently seen a black leather Reunion Blues bag go across eBay. Originally listed as 17.75x40 (which sounds like the generic dimensions of that last batch of “reunion blues” bags that were imported from China (not by Glenn or by Torpedo) and was quickly purchased (not by me). Then it popped up again listed as 17.75x35. Hmmm…I decide to take a chance.

It arrived this afternoon. My smallish Martin Medium EB fits quite well. I could probably use pad an inch or so thick at the bottom bow for Nirvana, but it’s a better fit than I had a right to hope for.

With a shoehorn, it will even fit the King/York 18” bell mashup I’ve been working on here and there (18” bell is the absolute maximum diameter that will fit. Not a quarter inch more.

And being nice, stiff leather, it stands

up on its own (Martin inside), picture to follow.

And serendipitously, I have an extra snap on music pouch in (wait for it…) black.

It’s a small bag. As I unpacked it I thought “uh-oh, too small”. In reality, it could lose an inch or two in length.

P.S. for those looking for a case by MTS for a smaller horn 18x34 or so:

https://www.1800usaband.com/products/view/10496

$295. Shipping was going to be $190 to So California. I suspect this is similar if not the same as the case that @bloke has for his squat Holton…

I'm a sucker for a happy ending, too.

Perhaps you can have embroidery saying Martin and Lewis?

Think anyone would appreciate that?
