Conn 14K Sousaphone - SOLD

Post by MG »

Conn Naked Lady Sousaphone
BBb (obviously)
Silver with 24” bell
3 valves that work great
All slides work
Great sound and projection
I was initially thinking this was either a 14K or 38K. No marking on the tenon. Internet searches show that the 38K ceased production in 1941 and the 14K in 1971. I don’t know how accurate that is but if true then this would be a 14K sousaphone as the serial number indicates it was made in 1961-62.
Some silver wear and small bumps and dents. Nothing large or major.
Calipers show a bore size of just over 17mm’s or .68 inches.
$2000 w/ gig bag. Willing to ship in Continental US at buyers expense. Shipping costs are pretty outrageous these days so I would rather do a meet and greet pickup. To give an indication of that, the costs to box, pack, ship and insure UPS from Ypsilanti, Michigan to Dallas is just shy of $870.
Located in Ypsilanti, Michigan

Hi, I just registered here, looking to find a horn to get back into playing and your sousaphone is cool as hell. I live in Houston. Would you be willing to ship and if so, how much would the shipping be?
