WTB Double mouthpiece pouch/case

Post by Timtamtuba »

Before I buy one off Amazon is there anyone here who's got one of these pouches or cases for 2 or more mouthpieces that they no longer use and would be willing to part with for about 20 bucks? Just received a couple pieces and realized I probably dont want them just sitting on my dresser where my cat may decide to throw on the floor.

I don't have a spare to sell, but here's one that I have made with a sewing machine, a washcloth, and a velcro strap.
  • Fold the washcloth in half and sew up the center line.
  • Fold it in half again along that sewn line
  • Sew the two edges on either side of the new fold. There's 4 layers of fabric here, so be careful with the machine's needle.
  • Figure out where the velcro should go to secure the contents of the 3 pockets
  • Sew on the velcro

Mike Milnarik had sold some very nice and well-padded two-mouthpiece pouches. You might check with him.

I email Mike every couple years because I want another one of his double mouthpiece pouches. As of April 2025, he was getting a new company on board, but "things are uncertain due to the current situation with tariffs." I check his website occasionally, and nothing have been available for a long time. https://www.tubastudio.com/mouthpiece-pouches

Once they are available, I'm snagging a couple single and double pouches. They're awesome.

Sorry i'm a slacker. I have usually just put two mouthpieces facing opposite directions in a 1 mouthpiece pouch.

The pouch hasn't fared well, and holes were being rubbed in it. I probably should retire it.

But it did work okay as they were different sizes: one for BBb instruments (american shank? and the other British.

Ah, but some day i wanna mouthpiece bandolier.

For a mouthpiece holder that you can carry in your "kit bag", just put a mouthpiece into an old sock. Can put two mouthpieces, one in each sock, then both into an outer sock. Safe and inexpensive.

For long-term storage of many mouthpieces, see four photos in imgur:

The overall size of each box is 12" x 12" x 2". Twenty five compartments per box -- each compartment is 2" x 2".
The boxes came from a vitamin store, but easy enough to make your own. Just be careful with the matte knife.
