Now 555 Pages of FREE STUFF!

Post by the elephant »

Here is my entire collection of Christmas quintet and quartet arrangements—reformatted, with some pieces having received heavy editing or rearranging. There are a couple of new tunes. These are "O Holy Night' and "On a One-Horse Broken Sleigh"—a 7/8 version of "Sleigh Ride" that is pretty dank fun to play.

I have also included the two medleys I cobbled together from many of these arrangements, adding transitional material as needed to make them work well. For the most part, the material in the medleys is the same as in the individual pieces, missing some of the intros or outros. A few things had to be changed altogether to make my linkups work.

Further, I have decided to include my book of quartets, as we have found them to be very useful for outdoor or background gigs where they do not want a big Christmas recital. (Think mall or church performances.) With four parts (and the first half of the book being very easily sight-readable), the two trumpets can swap phrases, thereby not killing themselves. This booklet is surprisingly handy at gigs when you need a fill tune. I included the trumpet book in both of the linked Trumpet folders.

In each folder is a collection of all the individual PDF files. Usually I put them in ZIP files, but some of you geniuses could not figure out how to double-click to uncompress them, heh, heh, heh. Download the parent folder, and you will have everything in five neat folders, which you can email to your players.

I even took the time to WRITE OUT SOLOS OVER CHANGES to make this more accessible. (A complaint in the past was that I put in the changes for the soloist, but not the solo. Well, come on, guys: that is how it works, but whatever. Now there are solos. Some of them are hard, too.)

The download size is 29.9 MB, which is just about nothing by today's standards. Even with a tiny 256 GB SSD, you will have plenty of room to keep these on your computer or on a backup drive. I keep them in the cloud. In case any of you are wondering, this link gives you 535 pages of quintet and quartet music for FREE.

EDIT: Now 555 pages.

Enjoy! :smilie8:

You really are a saint. While I don't have a group to play these with, someday I hope to. Thank you so very much.

If any of you downloaded this file today (August 7) between about 3:00 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Central Time, please do so again, as I somehow managed to delete a part and put an incorrect one in its place while futzing around with the Dropbox app on my phone. Sorry. I just found and corrected it. Kindly toss the other version. It is easier to re-download the whole package than to fish out the single page with the changes and insert the correct one. Thank you!

Bump!

I added two arrangements by others that I seriously altered for my colleagues on request. The alterations included things like setting them in different keys, rewriting the endings, rearticulating everything, etc. Some of the material was replaced wholesale.

These additions to this file "dump" are "Two French Carols" and "Silent Night". That is 555 pages of material for free. You had better snag a copy. Because - you know - free stuff…

BUMP!

If you have a really good trumpet/flugelhorn soloist, I finally wrote out some solos. "Christmastime is Here" is a great feature for that special trumpet studmuffin in your group.

There are no longer any remaining chord changes that lack a "bail out" written solo.

You're welcome.
