I don't actually know...

Looks like it's got a little palm plate to protect the thumb linkage from your hand, i think.

One way to find out, i suppose, if you're willing to travel to New Jersey.

Originally the 4/4 Nirschl. Then Nirschl loaned/sold the tooling to a Brazilian manufacturer, until it became clear they didn't know what they were doing. Now, copies are made by Besson (BE995) and ZO (Little Thunderbird), to varying degrees of success. The ZO I tried was 30 cents flat overall, with no way to shorten the MTS sufficiently.

Isn’t the B&S 795 (International/Chinese made) a copy of this style as well?

The 1st slide assembly is mounted about three degrees to the left. (READ: wonky asf.)

Not acceptable, IMHO.

Yeah, I guess. Although B&S claims it as having been designed by Dan Perantoni.

Yes sir!

Brazil, under HS Musical brand makes it in both BBb (TB1) and in CC (TB1C) too.

 and also 😆. I thought the lineage is American York - YorkMaster (Böhm & Meinl from Germany), German Nirschl / Brazilian Nirschl. Then the Besson 995 made in Germany. And now present day B&S 795 International CC and the HS Musical TB1 and TB1C.

I wonder at which point in time Mr Parentoni had any input.

Although, I guess the B&S gr41 (PT606) was inspired by a York tuba that Sir Parentoni owned. But the gr41 is not the same horn as the B&S 795

This sort of thing (more often: a tuba is to long - thankfully - vs. too short) happens with $3000 - $30000 tubas.

Besides the polishing nuisance and the (if not polished) sulfuric stench of silver-plated instruments, this is YET ANOTHER reason why I strongly lean towards the acquisition of clear-lacquer-finish instruments:
I can make all sorts of needed alterations and touch up the finish (here, on site) of the areas of those instruments which required reconfiguration.

Brazilian tubas...
I asked this once (no answer), but - at least, for a while - wasn't Herr Walter having the valvesets for his 6/4 C model (perhaps other models?) made in Brazil?
