Doesn't have the blue emblem on the tuning slide but definitely looks like a symphonie maybe very early or very late.

Tuba looks like it’s sustained some serious damage and was worked on. Could be a good horn but I’d definitely try to play it before committing to it.

Alot of it seems surface level though. I feel like the lacquer probably should just be stripped off considering how scratched up it is

That's my thoughts, although you'd have to convince them to ship it. That patch on the bottom bow is pretty unsightly but otherwise id consider it a great buy

If it plays like a Symphonie should, who cares what it looks like.

wild card: condition of rotors

I sorta quit buying from Europe (even though affordable shipping) because I've received too many that needed their pistons or rotors rebuilt.

Otherwise, (yes?) great models (with great prices) would have sold quickly/easily locally.

If someone over this way buys that, I truly wish them good fortune.

Definitely a good point. If anyone is thinking about pursuing this, ask for a play test video or at least a video pressing all the valves and moving in and out all the slides.

Fly over there, bring along some OTHER (worthless/unplayable/ugly) tuba in a case.

Test the Symphonie, buy it, give the seller the crap tuba, stick the Symphonie in your case, and head back home with the "same" tuba.

THIS IS ONLY A JOKE !!!

I WOULD NEVER CONSIDER DOING THIS !!!

I bought my Symphonie from Europe, and I don’t know why the seller didn’t list it locally first (or, anyway, didn’t sell it locally first, even if it was listed). But the seller is well known, has a good reputation, promised it was all in great condition, and it was indeed all great. A very lucky buy, from my perspective.
