Re: WTB: British baritone
I was hoping myself to find a four valve compensating British baritone, but apparently the only ones out there have horrid intonation.

Re: WTB: British baritone
Plus, with the smaller bore of the British baritone compared to a euph, the low register gets real grainy real quick. Yes, indeed: stick with a 3-valve comp for tone and intonation.Mary Ann wrote: Sat Jun 27, 2026 9:51 am I was hoping myself to find a four valve compensating British baritone, but apparently the only ones out there have horrid intonation.

Hi! We have a Geneva Bb Baritone that you might be interested in. We're located in Massachusetts, but could talk about options of getting it to you easily in Ohio.
Here is more information on the horn: https://www.thebrass-stop.com/baritones
Shoot me an email at anna@thebrass-stop.com if you'd like to talk more about it!
Thank you!

This B&S-made one (no...not Jinbao) - I understand - behaves itself pretty with, with a competent operator.Mary Ann wrote: Sat Jun 27, 2026 9:51 am I was hoping myself to find a four valve compensating British baritone, but apparently the only ones out there have horrid intonation.
They're not commonly stocked by stores...

I second this. My 3v Sterling Virtuoso is a fantastic instrument.iiipopes wrote: Sat Jun 27, 2026 4:57 pmPlus, with the smaller bore of the British baritone compared to a euph, the low register gets real grainy real quick.
