I owned one for a couple years in college. I could swear I had the lacquer removed from the bell. That was 20+ years ago. Could it have been mine? No idea.

I believe this one was Mike Milnarik’s tuba years ago. I loved the look of the red buttons against the raw brass, so that’s where I decided on the combo.
I think it’s been for sale a few times since then. The newest owner must’ve just opted for consignment.
If I’m correct, this one has all the modifications mine does right now, but they didn’t take it all the way with the main slide, weight reduction, etc.
FWIW, this, as is, costs about what I have into my own. Obviously I put in $X,XXX in needed repairs, which this one doesn’t need. This one doesn’t have the MAW valves either.

Just stumbled across this thread! I actually bought this 2165 from Dillon Music before I even knew this post existed. It's funny seeing it discussed here.

It honestly plays extremely well has very wide slots and you have to aim higher than you think you should but once you lock in the notes it’s extremely freeblowing and a beast in the pedal range.
