One of our subscribers lost their beloved cat of 14 years. (lung tumor - had to be put to sleep while they are away from home on business).
Here's a thread to express sympathy and to tell beloved cat stories for them to read.
I did not ask permission to reveal who they are...It doesn't matter, does it?

Re: beloved cat passing away (NOT mine)
Today I went home for lunch and played tuba for 20 minutes while my loyal gray cat sat next to me the whole time. (Our other cat is deathly afraid of the tuba and runs whenever I even go near a tuba case.)
It'll be a tough day when Alfie is gone (he's almost 10). Every night he climbs up on my chest for his nightly ear scritches. Usually drools all over me, too.
Thinking of your friend and their kitty.

I don't think I've ever cried more than when we had to put our dog to sleep a few years ago.
My full sympathy to that cat's family.

Nothing harder than putting down a member of the 'extended' family....

My dog heard you say "extended" - he didn't like that!bisontuba wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 2:16 pm Nothing harder than putting down a member of the 'extended' family....

I had to euthanize my Puddy Tat on April 3rd, end stage kidney disease, and yes it's damn hard. Condolences to your friend.
