Does anyone in southern California have a Miraphone 184 in BBb that would consider letting me play it for maybe 10 minutes in exchange for me buying breakfast or lunch?
I have never played one but am intrigued and may be interested in buying or trading for one (1958 DC USN 4v Martin Mammoth?)

Re: Miraphone 184 BBb in SoCal?
This is a lead that may go nowhere, but wasn't there one for sale in SoCal a few years ago? I am remembering it as being sort of beat up yet advertised as being in very nice condition, so I recall raising my eyebrows at it a bit.
I had the Chinese Wurzbach 184 BBb clone here, really didn't play too bad at all besides the linkages being old cheap Chinesium (horn was probably 10-15 years old with significant scholastic usage, so the linkages were pretty shot).

Re: Miraphone 184 BBb in SoCal?
Was it for sale on here?
@greenbean had mentioned this one being for sale:
“Yes, it is a terrific horn. I also own a 184 BBb also. Cosmetically roughly but also a great horn. In fact, I am playing them side-by-side. It is hard to say which plays *better* but the 185 definitely puts out a bigger sound.”
He switched back and forth between selling the 184 and the 185.

First new horn I bought in 1983 was a BBflat 184, sn 12453 (funny how I still remember that.) Great horn and for me was the ultimate quintet horn...I wonder what life would be like today if I hadn't gone off on Tubenet-fueled equipment infatuation nonsense, and eventually "switched to CC" in 1998 and sold it. Also wonder if that horn's still around and found its way to one of the gang here...Bueller...? Bueller...?

I can see remembering that serial number as its got 1-5 in it.
I'm sort of hoping for the same sentiment as yours marked above.
