I am spending way too much time trying to figure out which valve casing brush I should get for my tuba. If anyone could recommend one that is big enough I would appreciate it.

Re: Valve Casing Brush
Look at the selection (a package of several) hanging on the wall in a cardboard and plastic package at Harbor freight and see what you think.

I have bought a lot of brushes from here, and they work really well for what I do with them. I am all for supporting people in the music industry, but I also try to be smart and source things where I don't feel prices are outrageous for what I am getting.

Re: Valve Casing Brush
Any nylon bottle brush should work just fine, since the casing diameter is so big. Get a plastic one, so that you won't have to worry about metal ends scratching the casing.
Otherwise, the purpose of the brush is to gently dislodge anything stubborn that's left over or hanging onto the edges/valve guide channel/etc after chemically (or with water) softening/loosening the crud. I would not think about the brush in terms of scrubbing.
I mean, it's not an antique tissue paper collection, but you do want to be a little careful with it.

Thanks everyone. Harbor Freight was convenient so I check it out. This is what I found for $6. From narrowest to widest. In case people in the future have the same question
