(I bought something else - not a tuba - and didn't want to pull money out of the bank to buy that other thing.)
In the meantime, I've rounded up everything I need to build a BRASS King sousaphone, but I don't want to buff and lacquer it.
I don't like flat black sousaphones, I don't wish to paint it white...
I don't like bright-colored sousaphones, I'm done with super-attention-getting colors on them.
I HAVE a few cans of BRONZE FAUX HAMMER-FINISH RATTLE CAN PAINT.
It actually looks much MORE REALISTIC than this picture:
(your thoughts? Some parts are silver plated, and some are lacquered...I'd strip the lacquered parts and just spray the entire instrument with this...
POSSIBLY, I might do SMOOTH/SHINY bronze TINTED lacquer on the bell interior, slides and offsets (which would require buffing on those areas ONLY)...I DO HAVE some Nikolas bronze TINT for their 2105 clear lacquer.
