I would like to think so, with clever reinforcement.

But it would be interesting, and the obviously entertaining to watch (but not to play) failure mode involves it tumbling out on the player's head. So... wear a helmet? And please post pics!

If you are implementing this in new england, let me know, as i feel obliged to step up and offer to be a guinea pig if i'm going to encourage such risk taking.

As someone who borrowed a Silent Brass back in the day (probably around 20 years ago...also, this was on euphonium, so take that with a grain, too):

The novelty of the electronics wore off pretty quickly. What it did was add much more weight to the horn than a standard, say, Denis Wick practice mute. I borrowed the mute for about two weeks, and stopped using the headphone amp about 5 days into it. When I returned it, I simply bought a Wick.

I can't speak for more modern models, but the mute was heavy and threw off the weight of the horn, and the headphone amp was kinda novel for a bit, but I was playing with the mute more than I was actually practicing; and adding reverb to your daily practice just masks what you're actually supposed to be working on.

If you're trying to use it for "electrifying" your horn, there's solutions that are better in just about every way; including sound, weight, and it would cost a fraction.

In short, if it were me, I'd get an old-fashioned practice mute for practice, or a simple Shure SM57 if this is for amplifying your horn.
