I saved a bunch of pics as well from the old board. I imagine a lot of them are on Klaus's (now Donn's) photo archives, but I'll try to upload some when I get the time.
I've just discovered these pages, superb photos, thank you !
I'm looking for photos of the ALEXANDER 151 tenor tuba, but the C-pitched model (reference 151MH).
This model hasn't been manufactured for a long time (several decades ?)
Does anyone have any ?
And if you have any technical details on this version, I'd also be interested.

William Webster, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, 1937 (string-linkage Alexander BBb)
Those are some fascinating photos. But the mpc that William Webster was using in the Detroit Symphony back in the 1930s looks very interesting. What do you think that mpc was made from? Ceramic or something else? Was nylon available way back then for mouthpieces?
^ It could very well be Bakelite. I had no idea Bakelite was invented in 1907 -- pretty much the first synthetic plastic Some old Bakelite stuff is worth pretty good money these days. It's just amazing to me that other materials have been used in tuba mouthpieces for longer than I had thought.
Lots of interesting section photos and tubas in this thread

There are some flyreels made from Bakelite (AL Walker) that are worth some coin. (Too pretty to fish.)

I almost bought an old Alex 164 BBb with that type of string linkage. It needed work, but had some of the shortest strokes I've encountered. Didn't have the white mouthpiece though...................
