FS/FT Meinl West 45SLP

Post by Slainesmiller »

Selling my Meinl Weston 45SLP F tuba in silver plate with a reunion Blues leather gig bag. I purchased this horn about a year ago and it has been an awesome horn I just purchased a rotary F tuba. Horn has been maintained by Tim’s Music in Sacramento since I have owned it. Everything moves smoothly and valves 1-4 are vented. Horn is located in San Diego CA if you would like to play test it. I am also willing to drive quite a ways for the right trade or sale. Asking 7,000

So what is the situation with this Tuba regarding all the talk about the lead pipe location needing to changed and issues with the "so called dreaded C"? Has the lead pipe been moved? What is your experience with the "C" on this tuba? Why are you selling it?

Thank you.

The horn slots well on the C I’ve never had a problem with it. I’ve played a few different F tubas now that have had that issue but I don’t on this horn. I also find it very comfortable to play ergonomically. It’s a big F but it is very comfortable to play and it can be played on long sessions easily. If I had room in my small apartment to have 4 horns I would keep it. It’s just not being played as much and deserves to go to a new home to make more music.
