Presser Tuba Concerto

Post by Pakins51 »

Does anyone know if there is a recording of the William Presser Tuba Concerto out there? I cannot find anything on it.

There is a Presser concerto for tuba and strings:

https://www.presser.com/494-00117-concerto.html

It looks like it hasn't been recorded commercially, but I am seeing quite a few student recordings on Worldcat. If you are in college, ask your school's music librarian if they would be able to process an interlibrary loan (ILL) for you to get something on CD.

I will have to go through the school I guess! But yes it is the Concerto with Strings not the Suite.

Music libraries are magical. Back in the days of burning CDs when I was in college, I used ILL to get literally hundreds of recordings that I copied onto my computer. There is still a lot of stuff out there that has never made it to streaming services or YouTube.
