Re: Dillon besson 983 mouthpieces
Actually the CHI A shank is .525 rather than the very small .520 like Yamaha and Bach make. The EEb Bass Model is .522 and the Gourlay is actually smaller at .518.
So if you like a bit larger than .525 the IR 1 A shank or the EEb Bass would fit the bill.
Not sure what our European Dealer situation ...

Re: Perantucci PT 19?
The Tucci Vintage 66 is indeed the closest to the Old PT 19 with the addition of the old School Tucci heavier cup style added when it became the 66 - not like the current design. Also every time these were changed at all they would likely have had small other adjustments made.

Re: Dillon besson 983 mouthpieces
As a 35 year plus Besson EEb Compensating player I can give you some strong recommendations:
The Wick and Alliance 3s never were to my liking.
For many years I did us a 24AW - rim can somewhat limit flexibility but great for long playing sessions
Also Used a Schilke 67 great for ensemble work ...

Glad you like it!
Your review and comments are right on point with my own.
I would add a few thoughts

Chicago Area Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble
25+ years ago the Metro Cats Tuba Euphonium Ensemble was a strong ensemble in the Chicago area. A few of us, including an original member, are talking about resurrecting that group. We have the metro cats original book 159 charts often with multiple pieces in one chart so likely 250+ quality ...

Re: quick question on the HB-2 (rotary) Hirsbrunner CC
I owned an HB2 for 8 years. It was the easiest horn to play I have had. Pitch great no problem with any note all the way down. The guy I sold it to 25+ years ago still has it and loves it. Sold it to pay for my Nirschl York. A few years later I got a PT20 rotor that was close but not quite as good ...

Re: SOLD: Walter Sear Helleberg, gold plate $125
I have a large sear that is not stamped Helleberg but is that type that had belonged to AJ. It was a soft nickel alloy no plating. I did gold plate it so I could use it.
Really nice MP on large horns

Tuba Shipping Box in Chicago if anyone Needs One
Anyone in the Chicago area need a Tuba shipping box? Was used to ship a large F tuba with 17 inch bell and had plenty of room. Would work great for most F or Eb and small CC or BBb. Filled with packing peanuts. 31.5 wide 25 high 48.5 long. Just pick it up and it is yours otherwise going in to the ...
