Is there a recording (commercial/youtube/whatever) of anyone doing that?
The Chicago/Barenboim recording from 1994 does. It adds a delicious level of menace.

Re: Whiteman Grand Canyon Suite Cloudburst

It could be Min Leibrook, but I’m not sure when he left the Whiteman Band.

Will also trade for a Mercer and Barker MB8, Deck 3, or Breslmair Z44 or G4.

The reimagining of the Loud LM12. Here’s a link to the specs https://www.gwmouthpieces.com/products/jon-gross-tuba-mouthpiece
This is the frost finish stainless version
It’s a great mouthpiece, but I don’t need two of them.
$250 and I’ll cover shipping within the continental United States

Re: York Monster Sousaphone in BBb for sale

I have one as well from 1928. These big beasts are worth every penny. Someone is going to get a real gem!

Re: Amati/Cerveny-made 'Sanders' 4v CC tuba

I’ve played it. It’s just up the road. It’s most definitely in the 5/4+ weight class. Close to a 20”-ish bell and .835 bore. It plays very well, and did I not have a dream BBb coming my way soon, it would be mine. 😉.

I want trombones to sound like trombones. Not slide euphoniums. 🤮.

A good Kalison DS gets a pretty emphatic vote from me.

Not sure there is a better tuba you can get for the money than a 2J or 3J. I'm pretty enticed by this actually.

Re: Buescher 4/4 C haid-scratchin' (LOL...actually: just dreamin')

Something like what you describe is EXACTLY what I'm looking for  I may actually prefer top action just to be different...and it's also better for standing with a strap, and should be a better line of sight to the drummer
