I'm almost 70 and haven't gotten there yet! I seem to get bored with a steady diet of any kind of music. However, when I was 16, got my first car and installed a new 8 track player - I discovered Switched on Bach. I couldn't stop listening to it! SO, I guess it was 16.

I have an F that just sits because learning F fingerings at almost 70 is futile!

The old 186s are the bomb! To me, they are just the right size and extremely well made. They will also last for generations. Mine is well used and is about 50 now and still likey has another 50 years left in it.

I got slapped in the face with it a couple years ago. I have worked my way through it for the most part thanks to a plastic straw, basics, rest, and going back to where I started with mouthpieces. It is very frustrating and I wish you the best on your journey.
