In my first community band we had 3 Willsons, 2x BBb and 1x Eb, all top action. The Eb was compensating the 2 BBb regular 4 valve. Not sure of the exact types

My current community band has 2 Besson 700 series non-comp and the Brassband has a Besson 983, 982, 994-2, 994-GS and a Sterling Virtuoso ...

I am playing with the idea of 3D printing a perfect fitting/shaped mute. But would it be better to use softer or rigid material? (for a practice mute)

The pick-up mute in mine (first version) is a 2.5mm jack plug.
The pick-up is just a one-channel microphone, no additional electronics, only the 2 signal wires

Big to hold, mine is quite thin material so it is not that heavy. This might be different with more modern versions.

Here in The Netherlands we transpose aswell, but I did learn to read parts in C, opens up a lot of options for study material

I have the predecessor to the Cerveny 691 (Amati B&F 69). It is definitely big but it is great to play.

We see those Exclusiv models quite a lot here in the Netherlands indeed, 5 valves is a rarity thought, mostly 3 valve models.

Large format 3D printers (~325 mm³) are becoming more accessible now, before it was either high end professional ($$$) or entry level hobbyist machines.

To work out a good design you need someone with a large format printer that can iterate and fine-tune the design.

I looked on various 3D print websites but can only find the 7506 hangers, not the 7502.

3D printed is less sturdy then injection molded of course, but material cost is so low you can easily get multiples.

I can confirm the measurements, my D6 shank starts at 13.6mm
