Re: 3/4 BBb Tuba
The nearest person that I can suggest who might have 3/4 John Packer on hand would be a member on this board, Bloke. He's way over in Williston though, so you're most likely looking at a day trip. I have a 3/4 sized John Packer, but I live in the arm-pit of Texas.

Re: Is it a Conn 22K?
Partial followup: I don't have photos to post yet. I won't be continuing with the thread. I did not expect such a long delay before my posts appear, and I don't want to deal with it. Everything about my sousaphone says it's a later-model 22K except the serial number. So long and so low.

I am justifiably biased towards Miraphone tubas. I loved my 187 when I had it and I love my 496 Hagen even more.

Re: Selling a Cerveny CC "Piggy"
I got a PM on Facebook that was apparently a copy of the ad for this tuba, and it was from "Roger Lewis."
I thought it very odd that Roger would be sending out blanket PMs, and clearly -- it was odd, because it wasn't Roger. The northern Indiana made it more legit looking because of the WWBW ...

That's why he wears a towel over his valve hand, so nobody can steal his hot lick.UncleBeer wrote: Thu Feb 05, 2026 4:46 am The guy found his 'hot lick' and is sticking to it, hell or high water.![]()
Actually I could see this happening if he was a BBb player and had to switch to an EEb horn in a pinch.

Re: Banda on a homebuilt tuba.
Thanks, but I found those too. Those aren't what I'm looking for. When the video starts, both the guitar player and tuba (?) player are playing at the same time with the guitar player singing.

Banda on a homebuilt tuba.
OK guys and gals, years ago somebody sent me a YouTube video of a two-man Banda group. One was playing the guitar and the otherone was playine something resembling a sousaphone which he had manufactured from the top half of a plastic Ozarka water bottle, some heat-treated PVC and a mouthpiece. Does ...

Re: What’s special about a $300+ mouthpiece?
That really depends on the mouthpiece. A lot of us are not satisfied by a Bach 18 or a Hellberg mouthpiece. And several of us have gleefully switched from a silver-plated brass mouthpiece to a stainless steel mouthpiece or even a more exotic one like Titanium. The last two mouthpieces I bought were ...

Re: Best Bb tuba for up to $12k?
I can only offer input from what I have heard others say. These people say that it's a great tuba, but not for a short player. If you are vertically challenged, a 1291 might be the better choice.
