@bloke how did you decide to put the patch on the outside vs the inside of the bell? My Rudi has a small patch and in my case it was installed/reinstalled on the inside of the bell. Is it dealer's choice, best practice or "depends?"

I'd love to know where mine is that I traded at Dillon Music in 1999, when I got my 2165 and Yamaha F tuba. I don't recall mine having a lyre holder like this one. In fact I don't remember having ever seen a Kalison with a lyre holder.

I figured I could leave the bridge pickup alone, as it's so close to the bridge and (I just seemed to me) unlikely to pull significantly on the string, simply due to leverage considerations.


On a jazz bass, I typically (and this seems to be common) have the bridge pickup higher than the neck ...
