As someone that played only 4 valve CC tubas from 1988 to 2020, I can say that a 5 valve BBb is just something you need if you want the horn to be more heavy

On my Eastman I can a really nice low C playing 1224 with a 1at valve slide pull.

I'm not sure in 40 years of playing I've ever seen a low ...

seems like the most important measurements would be the one taken from YOUR TUBA

if you're making something custom, now is the time to do it right.

As far as CC vs Bbb. I sold my CC tubas when I played the Eastman 534.

99% of them are the 836 6/4 model which college students are told they NEED to win the chicago symphony job, and when they figure out that's not going to happen, they sell them

When I added the 5th valve to my euph, I had to fit the valve into a section of the area between the 4th valve and the MTS, where the tube expanded. The exit part of the valve doesn't have a ferrule on it, just a pipe

I've used Mohawk, and it work very well, and the desciption says it's Nitro
