Eastman seems to have mastered the art of flooding the market and attaching big names to their instruments to generate hype.

There's a lot of FOMO involved. People see prominent players endorsing them, convince themselves they're getting the next best thing, and jump on the bandwagon. Then a year ...

If anyone is interested, this was a really cool venue to play in. It was an actively used bull fighting ring for a long time. It’s now the performance venue for Numskull Brass Festival, in Caudete, Spain. The floor is still dirt and it has no roof. The acoustics were surprisingly good, and this ...

Unfortunately, my horn didn’t fit in the bag. But it’s in great condition for anyone looking for one. Still searching for one for 6/4 piston CC tuba!

Thanks!

I’ve played this horn, and it’s quite good! Good luck with the sale!

Looking for great condition Altieri bag that is made for large piston F tuba. Meinl Weston 2250, Willson 3200, or similarly sized model. MW 2155, 2145, or other models considered. Oh…and they can’t have any “funky” smells…long story.

Thanks!

Looking for a good condition Altieri gig bag that is specifically specc’ed to a 6/4 Piston York tuba. Nirschl, Eastman, even Hirsbrunner is fine. One for a MW 2165 or 6450 is ok, but would prefer York-style.

Thanks!

With all the drama surrounding shipping tubas, I thought I’d offer up a few of the ones I have before I cut them up.

These are all the same size and are large enough to hold the largest Eastman models in their hard cases. There’s a good bit of foam in each of them as well. But you’ll need to add ...

That is what Gene is currently referring to as York #2 on the right and his BMB Bb on the left. And he’s also got a cimbasso with him on the tour for Nabucco. All the toys…

This is a true loss and sad news. I found out a few days ago and it was a shock.

Mr. Akins regularly attended major Cincinnati Symphony subscription concerts, and his daughter (a tubist and Executive Director of our May Festival) was routinely trying to get the two of us together after performances ...

Hey folks, I’ll be attending the NAMM show this January 19th-24th and bringing my wife along. We’ll be rehearing and brushing up this coming year’s recital repertoire. If you or anyone you know in the greater Los Angeles area is interested in possibly hosting us for a short 30-minute recital ...

I don’t remember the charge for palletizing. I usually do it myself. It’s nothing more than putting the box on a wooden pallet, and wrapping it with clear plastic wrap to secure it to the pallet. Most times I also have a cardboard “crush cone” mounted on top to ensure nobody gets any ideas about ...

I’ve shipped and received MANY tuba with XPO Logistics. It’ll have to be palletized, but they’ll do it for a charge.

Sold pending funds. Thanks for looking.

I played this orchestration with the US Army Orchestra at the Army Band Tuba/Euphonium Conference in 2019. It is a solid arrangement and great piece for contrabass tuba with orchestra.

Price drop to $10,000USD
Thanks for looking

Price drop to $10,500 USD

The first piece of advice I give students who are preparing for an orchestra audition is: Don’t play for tuba players. Play for musicians who might actually be on the committee.

Other instrumentalists listen for different things than tubists. Tubists listen for things that they struggle with, and ...

Bump, still available.

Hello, trying to clear out my basement and make room for more stuff…
For sale is a hand-picked Wessex Prokofiev Model 6/4 BBb tuba in silver plate. It has 4 pistons and 1 thumb operated rotor. I selected this tuba from a batch of 4-5 (can’t remember exactly) and have found it to be the best one of ...

Chris has done great things with Buddy Rogers to make it a DESTINATION for tuba and euphonium in an otherwise under-served part of the USA! Glad you could see how much he could do with such a limited space and resources!
