Sorry. My mistake. It looks like a high/low pitch (patent pending 1910) set of slides behind the 3rd valve slide. They had a little slide that pulls downward toward the bottom bow. Once it was out ...

Don't worry. I remember the first time I played a sousaphone on the marching field as a freshman in high school in August 1976, and it was all I could do to play a bottom-of-the-staff F, and that with a fuzzy tone, having transitioned from being a trumpet player. We have all been there.

That's a strong high register :thumbsup: Might as well just play it on euphonium. Try playing those ascending lines without a breath breaking them up. A bigger breath before those ascending lines, playing a complete phrase is much more musical :coffee:

9th partial is usually about in tune or barely sharp, but very large diameter bell throats or mouthpieces that are deeper cupped for a particular application than (OK) I might choose can throw 9th partial out of kilter.

Typically it's the 1-2 and 2-3 pitches above the staff (C# and D) which tend ...

I bought an Eastman 864G (B&S Symphonie copy)
It's a great horn! The only weird note that I found is the high G, second line G, on the G clef

If you have a similar tuba, what's the best fingering option for this note?
