i got a larger bore leadpipe from mike johnson: https://m-j-c.co.uk/page-7/

and had my super amazing repair tech put it onto my gorgeous old frosted silver 4 valve New Standard BBb with a 17 inch bell.

and now it plays heaps better! (or maybe i have improved spectacularly)

still nice and clear ...

So much Pittsburgh awesomeness in that program.

I have a half sleeve tattoo dedicated to the Neighborhood of Make Believe.

There is so much about the man and the work he has done to admire.

I am a huge Johnny Costa fan. Mister Rogers wrote all the music and Johnny would improv it on every live taping. Handyman Joe Negri was an amazing jazz guitarist. He recently passed. Francois Clemmons is/was a doctorate level opera performer.

Fred introduced us to so much music. Even had a taping ...

Interesting person. I believe he used to be on the staff of Mr Rogers' Neighborhood television program.

Alto Horns AND Mister Rogers?????

Now you got my attention.

The B&H alto interests me the most.

But I need to know more about the Mister Rogers connection.

I took the case which came with my 19" inch Eb for my 15" Eb. It actually works nicely. I didn't like the case but I don't play this instrument all the time.

Gig bags scare me for large instruments. Increasing the surface area for potential disaster.

Bringing in the sleeves.
Bringing in the sleeves
We will come rejoicing,
Bringing in the sleeves.

How's the boo boo?

I was swinging a little 3 lb. sledgehammer to change the shape of a steel tool, the head flew off the handle and landed squarely on this joint of my right hand index finger (sort of an important finger for someone who works with their hands).

It popped the skin clean open in a straight diagonal ...

Pics or it didn't happen.

Seriously, I'm curious.

There was a time at brass band a couple years ago, that I got out the NStar, did not see the mouthpiece pouch in my bag, and said SH!T ! The guy next to me said, "Forgot your mouthpiece?" Like, he was telepathic or something. Turned out I had it but in a different place, but I found it amusing ...

I’ve been working with BBCo’s manager to make a standing version of their stand.

Right now I’m using a converted carbon fiber camera tripod stand with the top part of a BBC stand.

They’re a nice stand.

Lancaster British Brass Band - Summer 2026

I agree that JP instruments are underrated. Some years ago I purchased a JP soprano cornet to learn what playing the "crown" of a British style brass band was all about. Well, it did need some tweaking of the lead pipe, tuning pipe, thumb screw, and ferrule to play properly, as well as fixing the ...

Couldn't think of a better person.

Are we real?

You probably only read my most recent response, and not my earlier one.
EARLIER, I discussed pictures of (either) anonymous (ie. "here's a picture of a woman holding a tuba...never mind who they are, or what they've achieved") and/or AI (computer-generated ...

Depends on how many body parts you are missing -- I'm an "it" as of age 45. I think if you are only minus a gall bladder, you're still technically female.

Also, I am building a storage shed in my back yard to accommodate extra things from my shop that are taking up room in my workspace. I went to town hall for a building permit. The lady behind the counter asked what the purpose was, and I joked, "It's mostly to hold tuba cases!" and she said, "Oh ...

How I miss it. I can relate in the missing parts department. LOL.
