Re: Good price for 1/16" 60/40 Solder

I'm the opposite, I've found paste flux easier to work with. I use liquid only if I need to get some more in there one I've started. With liquid flux, I just get solder everywhere, it seems. The paste seems to help me keep the solder where I want it.

Public Surplus - Lincoln, NE - King Souzy, Yamaha 321, Conn case

These are on my school district public surplus:

King Fiberglass Sousaphone - it has a neck, but no bits.

Yamaha YBB-321 - looks complete but has the typical flat outside bow.

Conn Tuba Case - there are no dimensions listed. I can't tell if it's for a 12J or more like a modern King 2341.

Mystery Science Theater 3000! There are a ton available for free on YouTube now.

I've watching a lot of MST3K on Prime lately. I wonder if that's subliminally your fault.

Currently running "Final Justice" in the background as I finish up some work at home today.

I've been meaning to say that I love your signature line, @arpthark. I remember renting those videos from Blockbuster (or whatever our local movie rental place was) and watching them with my siblings. They're hilarious!

Well shoot...I had some of the cold strip, but I guess I let it sit around to long and it became a gelatinous blob.

Beautiful Martin on Facebook - Ashland, NE

I just came across this on marketplace. It's a four- valve Martin Mammoth. It has both an upright and a recording bell. Recording bell is original, upright was made for it, including engraving. Purchased from Lee Stofer in 2016. Gorgeous horn!

There was also a York double-belled euphonium on the auction. It went for $415.

Re: Who was your teacher?

I took a few lessons with Todd French at the end of my senior year when I decided I was going to major in music.

In college I studied with Craig Fuller. He's to blame for getting me into tuba repair and building/franken-ing.

Those are some interesting circuits. That big one right around the bottom bow looks like it gets dinged.

At one point, they had a 0.75 bore, four- valve set on that website, but I can't seem to find it anymore.
