Newest project

Post by Yorkboy »

I figured I'd christen the new construction forum with my newest project - it's a King monster E flat with a Reynolds .687 valve set, with a 19mm (.748) 5th rotor valve.

Not quite done yet (just a few braces and some bell clean up) but very close!

Looks good! Hopefully you'll post a few more pictures. It's always nice to see other people's work.

What do you think of the angle of the valve section? My old Marzan was more horizontal than vertical (sort of like yours), and it was just really hard to hold for long periods of time.

Maybe it's just an illusion, or maybe it's not uncomfortable at all. I've tried, but just can't seem to settle into your piston tuba world. :)

It's a beauty! How many tubas have you built?

Very nice proportions! That's a good looking horn and I'm sure plays even better. Great work!

With Bb tubing lengths, that would be the perfect valve body to put on my fiberglass Martin. My pinky keeps going for the nonexistent fourth valve.

I like the look of this tuba. It has nice "lines".
